Mission Board:  Members discuss and decide upon worthy ministries to which to donate funds and organize mission-related activities for the parish.

AIDS Walk – An easy two-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for R.A.I.N.; held the first Saturday in May.

CROP Walk – A simple walk to support hunger ministries throughout the world; held in mid October.

Room in the Innproviding shelter and meals to those who are homeless in Charlotte, from December through March on Tuesday evenings; ministries include transportation, meal preparation, and inn-keeping

Uptown Men’s Shelter Mealpreparing dinner for the residents of the Uptown Men’s Shelter on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Uptown Men’s Shelter Christmass Bags – An opportunity to provide bags of clothing, toiletries, and other items for the men at the Uptown Men’s Shelter during the holidays.

Christmass at Whitehorse A ministry program to provide Christmas gifts to the children of White Horse, Cheyenne River Reservation, South Dakota.

Samaritan House – A non-profit home that provides room and board for homeless people recovering from a surgery or other medical conditions; opportunities to provide meals for the residents too.

Loaves & Fishesa ministry that collects food products from organizations, and makes the food available to the hungry in our community;

Peanut Butter Sunday – Ingathering of peanut butter and other canned goods for Loaves and Fishes the second Sunday of each month

ESL at CHC – English as a Second Language at Church of the Holy Comforter – tutoring new residents whose English language is limited; held at Church of the Holy Comforter.

Mission Trip - Parishoners have gone to Whitehorse, South Dakota to work with and provide Vactation Bible School for familes and residents on the Cheyenne River Reservation.

Thompson Child & Family Focus – now a facility for the care and treatment of children and families with life challenges; volunteers work with staff to help children have positive life encounters.

H.E.L.P. – Helping Empower Local People:  Local grassroots community organizing group that advocates for the equitable sharing of power for the benefit of all the residents of Charlotte and MecklenburgCounty.

Augustine Project – tutoring children to improve reading skills; requires training; multi-parish involvement

Carolina Connection – A cooperative relationship between St. Martin’s, St. Peter’s, Holy Comforter, and St. Patrick’s Churches in mission work and fellowship.

Chapel of Christ the King:  An urban mission of the diocese of North Carolina -

Summer Camp meals:  An opportunity to provide nutritional breakfasts and lunches for the young people that attend summer camps at the Chapel.

Vestry:  Members of St. Martin’s and other Charlotte Episcopal churches minister to the needs of the Chapel by helping to provide leadership and oversight.

Chaplaincy at UNC-Charlotte:  Opportunities for ministry with college students through United Christian Fellowship – a joint mission of Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist and Presbyterian churches.

Swann Fellowship – a group of citizens and parishioners concerned with the re-segregation of schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg with the ending of busing.

Urban Ministry Centerfocuses on needs of homeless in our community; for example, Homeless Helping the Homeless and Room-In-The-Inn.

Shepherd Centermany volunteer opportunities in Charlotte area senior learning and support center.

R.A.I.N. – Regional AIDS Interfaith Network:  Provides opportunities to care for and support people living with HIV/AIDS, through the ministry of “Care Teams”

Scouting: Cub Scouts – Den 405 &   Boy Scouts – Troop 405 – ministry opportunities in leadership with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. First Scout Troop in Charlotte was at St. Martin’s.

Companion Diocese: Costa Rica ministry and mission exchanges with the Episcopal Diocese of Costa Rica since the late 1990s.

Companion Diocese: Botswanaa new ministry and mission with the Anglican Diocese of Botswana since 2007 based on a shared understanding of the Gospel and shared communion in Anglicanism.
