Sundays at 8:00 am – traditional language Holy Eucharist with sermon & music
Sundays at 10:30 am – contemporary language Holy Eucharist with sermon & choirs
Wednesdays at 5:30 pm – meditative & reflective service with Eucharist, healing, Taize music. A sight, smell & sound experience
Thursdays at 12:10 pm – a simple said celebration of the Eucharist
Special Services:
St. Martin’s Day – our patronal feast day on the second Sunday in November, and time for remembering our history and ministry since 1887.
Absalom Jones: A Celebration of Gospel Hospitality – Jones, the first African-American ordained (deacon in 1795 and priest in 1802) in The Episcopal Church. A time (February) to focus on the Gospel’s call to welcome all of God’s people.
Jonathan Daniels: A Celebration of Gospel Justice – Daniels, a young Episcopal seminarian, martyred in 1965 while ministering in the Civil Rights Movement. A time (August) when we lift up the call for justice for the people of God.
Youth Sunday – in late spring, the Youth take the lead in the service and Seniors are the preachers. Youth lead the 10:30am worship service with music, readings, and sermon; occurs in late spring.
Good Shepherd Sunday – celebrating our Children’s Ministry and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Blessing of the Animals – a celebration of St. Francis and a time to bless other members of God’s Creation. Animals are in the church for the service and are blessed afterwards.
St. Polyp’s Day – Feast day on February 29th, patron saint of proctologists. Just checking to see if you are paying attention.
Healing – one of the Sacraments of the church by prayers for healing and anointing, available during the two services on the first Sunday of the month, at the Wednesday service, and as requested from a priest.
Baptisms – the great Sacrament of becoming a child of God and member of the Church; offered five times a year (Sunday after the Epiphany; Easter; Pentecost; Sunday of Labor Day Weekend; and All Saints’ Sunday).
Weddings – another Sacrament of the Church available to members and their families; and others are asked to speak with the Rector about the possibility of being married at the Parish.
Funerals – a time to celebrate the life eternal within the embrace of the Church. Call the Parish to speak with a priest for further information.
Reconciliation – another of the Seven Sacraments of the Church, also known as Confession; and available at any time. Contact one of the priests of the parish.
Choirs:
Adult Choir – sings each Sunday at principal service (10:30 am); special music offerings: Advent Lessons and Carols, Christmass Eve, Christmass Lessons and Carols, Cantatas, and Evensong with sister Episcopal Church Choirs; rehearses on Thursdays at 7:15 pm
Summer Choir – made up of regular choristers and others during the summer months, a good time to see if choir is for you.
St. Anne’s Choristers – (4 years – 1st grade) sings occasionally at principal service; rehearses on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm.
St. Cecelia’s Choristers – (2nd – 6th grades) sings occasionally at principal service; rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:45 pm.
St. Martin’s Handbell Ringers – rings occasionally at principal service and at special seasonal services; presently not rehearsing.
Altar Guild – a servant ministry to prepare and maintain all that relates to the needs of worship’s services.
Flower Guild – using the beauty of nature and God’s Creation to teach through image and to decorate the sacredness of the chancel.
Eucharistic Ministers – named by the Rector and licensed by the Bishop, Eucharistic Ministers administer the chalice during worship services.
Eucharistic Visitors – named by the Rector and licensed by the Bishop, Eucharistic Visitors carry the Blessed Sacrament to those who cannot (for whatever reason) attend regular services.
Lectors & Intercessors – named by the Rector, these parishioners read the Lessons and lead the Prayers of the People at worship services.
Ushers – assists worshippers at all services with welcoming all, distributing worship bulletins, seating, and coordination of related duties.
Acolytes: Youth – assist the clergy with services as servers, crucifers, torchbearers, and bookbearers; part of Youth Ministry.
Acolytes: Adults – assist the clergy with 8:00 am Sunday service and at other times (e.g., funerals and weddings).
Greeters – a ministry of welcome of those who staff the Greeters’ Cart outside the Church entrance.
